Putrid Blightkings - Build - Part 1


After my Lord of Plagues build, I wanted to up my green stuff game a bit. As I'm working with a pirate theme for my nurgles, I figured that a steering wheel from a ship would be a nice thing to stick on the back on one of my Putrid Blightkings.

This was how ever easier said then done and turned out to be a long process of sanding and reapplying greenstuff. I am pretty happy with the result though and once I start to slapp some colors on this, I think it can turn out pretty okay.

Pirate Nurgle - Lord of Plagues

So I'm finally done with my Lord of Plagues. Feels kind of weird to be honest.. this guy have been keeping me company on my desk for quite some time and now that it's over it feels kind of empty. Unfortunately I did not save a full list of paints for this project. As this was the only miniature I was working on, I didn't think to much of what paints i was using. I just grabbed what I felt I needed at the time and slapped it on the model. However I am planning to paint more Nurgle, this was such a fun theme to work with and I think I can push it way further. So I'm going to try my very best to keep a paint list for my next model. Stormcasts Eternals - Stormsire's Cursebreakers - Green & White

So I finally got around to finnish up my Stormcasts Eternals warband- Stormsire's Cursebreakers. This is the second wardband that comes with the Warhammer Underworld – Nightvault box. Im going to be perfectly honest with you guys, stepping into this I didnt really care much for stormcasts at all. Even though the story about how sigmar created these worriors have some interesting elements, essentially their still just dudes in golden armor. So in order to not get bored at them before I even began I knew I had to at least change up the color scheme a bit. My first instinct was to swap out the gold for steel, but although I really like to bring out details with metal colors, painting with them is kinda messy. So instead I ended up white, green and red as my primary colors and metal for weaponds and details on the armor. In the end Im actually very happy with the result. Painting Nighthaunt using Vallejo game colors

For my previous projects I've always been buying paints specific to the model that I'm currently painting. There's nothing wrong with this of course. In fact, this is probably the most common way to build up your paint selection. But having to research what paints you need every time you pick up a new model can be tiring and when you finally made your purchase you're kind of stuck with the colors that you bought. If you don't want to head down to the store and spend some extra cash that is. So this time, in stead of picking out colors one buy one, I decided to pull the trigger on a paint set. Up until now I've been using citadel paints, and although I'm generally not disappointed with their paints they don't really have a paint set that would cover my needs. So a brand change was needed.
